Building on our successes and planning for the future!

Over recent years, St Joseph’s has continued to grow and develop into a wonderful school and I feel extremely privileged to lead our Catholic school community, as Headteacher, having previously been Deputy Headteacher, for a number of years. We believe our school is a special place, where children are cared for and nurtured, whilst receiving a personalised curriculum, which is right for them, in our locality.

My priority as Headteacher is to ensure that St. Joseph’s continues to be a centre of excellence, with securely good or better teaching and learning taking place and Catholic values and practice underpinning all the work we do. Not only do I want all of our children to achieve academically, I want them to continue to become model citizens, based on the life and teachings of Christ, who are ready for life in Modern Britain.

At St Joseph’s we do it our way and have a mantra of ‘everything we choose to do, we do it for our children’; my staff work continually hard, to ensure our children receive a top quality education. We want all our children to find school life interesting, challenging and enjoyable, whilst feeling safe, secure and valued.

We work hard to ensure that we are a central part of the Catholic community of St Joseph’s, and have a close relationship with our Parish Priest, Father Anthony. There is a strong emphasis on the Catholic faith at St. Joseph’s and our children are taught to live by the virtues so their ‘character’ can flourish as a whole person. “I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.” (John 10:10)

The staff and Academy Council are extremely appreciative of the support that the school receives from parents, and members of the school community, in order to benefit our children. I am very much aware of the responsibility my staff and I have, in ensuring that the highest standard of teaching and learning is evident in all areas and that our children continue to receive a consistently good education.

As I always say, it is an absolute privilege to lead St Joseph’s. For a small school in Moorthorpe, we have a wealth of success; St. Joseph’s is a truly amazing school, which continues to go from strength to strength and I couldn’t be any prouder!

If your child is new to the school, we warmly welcome you and look forward to a successful partnership between home and school. If your child already attends St. Joseph’s, we will work with you to build on the existing links, by providing the best education possible. If you would like your child to attend our school, then please, get in touch – we’d love to hear from you.
